The crisps are very crisp yet won’t knock your fillings out like some other brands. The cider vinegar gives the taste a sweet acidity that really gets the juices flowing. Theses are the perfect accompaniment to real ale and ham rolls. Yum! Think I’ll go and have some now!
(Moreishness should be at least a trillion stars)

So I’m sure we have all been in the same boat before. so I don’t need go into too much detail, but you all know how it feels to be stuck on some stretch of glorious Anonymous british motorway, starving hungry, miles from home, and 5 minutes ago you were so thirsty but desperate to continue your journey that you did it, didnt you- go on admit it. You drank that mouthful of pop that probably last felt the touch of human kindness before your kids left for uni. and was at some point used as an ashtray. You dirty dirty person. Stop at the next services, waltz inside with that ‘Im not drunk, I have been operating my clutch for several hours in a tailback’ Gait. After you have freshened up and relieved yourself, pop inside that generic newsagents style shop, walk straight past the plastic sandwiches (They will be the only thing left fot the cockroaches to eat in the event of a nuclear disaster, its only fair), face it, the only non fuss foodstuff in the event of an emergency is a pack of crisps, now then. There is regularly a vast choice, so you need to go with the ones that feel personal to you, as you scan the aisle you set your eyes upon a pack which has a photo of your old uncle Ernie that time he got drunk at aunt Maggies funeral- Oh, no its not, wow, sure looks like him, at this point the bored cashier has been staring intently at your scrutiny of this bag of crisps so you walk nonchanantly over, put them down on the counter, scan the chewing gum, energy shots and condoms beside the till, then scurry out, get back in your car and drive. You get onto the main motorway and put your hand in the bag, rummage about, and pull out a crisp, then the second it hits your tastebuds you realise that everything that has come before this was wrong. These crisps, nay, these MIRACLE slices of hearty tasty potatoey goodness, become the sole focus of your attention. So strong, so flavoursome. Wow. Crunchy and filling and delicious. Every bite a new high of flavour! Now, crisps like these deserve attention, so you pull over into a layby. Scrunching away as you examine the packaging for the source of the amazing flavour in your mouth. MMMMMmmmm Cider vinegar and sea salt, SO NICE. You are so ensconced in the flavour you barely notice the police officer pulling up behind you, and the rap on your window startles you. “Is everything ok madam, you seemed to be driving quite quickly and then veered into the layby?” When this happens the best course of action is to hand the bag to the officer, and ask to be escorted back to the services. Face it- you wouldnt want to be breathalised so the officer can breakdown the results to see cig ash, 5 year old pop and excitement. It might get you in trouble! Face it though, these contain cider vinegar, so dont eat too many packs while driving, incase it intoxicates you, as every youth with a load of friends with driving licence knows- nobody likes walkers…

It may look a little over zealous in giving 5 stars but oh the raptures of the Sea Salt and Cider Vinegar crisps! They create quite a buzz on the tongue, you can almost taste the salty sea air and the golden cider apples infused in the vinegar. An orchard almost its that cidery. Or was it the vintage cider that I had along with the SS and CV crisps? These are crisps for crisp conoisseurs (have i spelt that right) and lovers of all things british with a touch of eccentricity. You can almost frame the packets as well for the arty packaging… I always save a bit in the bag for the dog, and he doesnt have a favourite flavour!

On my weekly (or so) shop i like to go to the Costa Coffee that is part of our Tesco. In the past i would have my coffee, maybe a sandwich and go and do my shop.
However, since the beginning of the year, i began getting a bag of these crisps, which are marvelous. They are the best crisps i have ever tasted and the packet is a source of interest to me also. It’s informative, clever, funny and it makes me enjoy my little coffee breaks even more.
So i would just like to thank everyone who works for/with Tyrrell’s for making my weekly (or so) shop just that little more enjoyable.

These are the best crisps EVER to be invented. Whenever I am in the local sandwich shop it must be a corned beef sarnie and a bag of Tyrrells sea salt and cider vinegar. I am not usually a fan of salt and vinegar crisps but these are just beautiful. 10/10!!!

  16. Emma Jones

    Rating:

A refreshing change from the usual salt and balsamic vinegar you get from the more upmarket crisp makers. The use of cider vinegar gives them a sweeter taste, this combined with the crunch factor of the crisps tops all the rival salt and vinegar flavours.

  17. Kathleen H

    Rating:

Perfect combination of salt and vinegar — the cider means it’s not too sour or acidic, and great satisfying crunch. Definitely the best salt & vinegar crisps around.

Its like a bag of chips on a summers day. The Sea Salt & Crisp Fruity Cider Vinegar marry together like the smell of walking down Blackpool pleasure beach with a bag of chips only twice as tasty . Once you crunch through one then a few more and a few more you soon find you cant stop and your then staring at the bottom of an empty silver bag desperate for more, licking the last of the flavour off your fingers and trying to get every last crumb out of the bottom corners of the bag. Your tongue tingles with the sweet but savory cider vinegar and the sea salt flakes finish the crisp off to make a irresistible, moreish crisp either to share with friend or be greedy and hog to your self! Yummmm!

when you first see the packaging with the old fella drinking a nice glass of cider you immediatly expect to be refresed when eating the crisps and to be honest you do it has the perfect blend of ingredients with the sweet but tangy taste to start then a after taste of the amazingly cooked potatoe but the only downside is the lack of salt in the flavour its there but you cantreally taste it but overall these crisps are one to keep with you to watch movies etc and when you reach your arm around the girl with a big yawn make sure you grab a handfull so she dont eat them all!!

  32. Bill McQueen

    Rating:

Some of the flavours that Tyrrells offer are great. I really like flavours such as cider vinegar and honey roast ham & cranberry. The crisps themselves are very crunchy which is my measure of a good crisp. The only thing that let my crisps down was the uneven lack of flavouring. I thought that generally there wasnt enough flavouring and in some instances all I could taste was plain potato crisp. For me increasing the amount of flavouring slightly would make a big difference to my enjoymnet of thesse crisps.

Crisps? Crisps? These aren’t crisps. They are magnificent slices of potatotastertainment, bathed in the salty-vinegary nectar and glowing with ripe joy. Also there’s old people on the bag, and you can trust old people. Especially with vegetables.

  34. John Harvey

    Rating:

I have tried many top brands of these type of crisps and I have to say these will always come out on top, the taste of cider vinegar and sea salt is strong and keeps the taste in your mouth making you want to eat more, hence a packet doesn’t last long, where as others the taste just goes away once you put it in your mouth. Tyrrells will always be the BEST !!! keep making these top flavoured crisps, just finished a pack while typing this !!

  35. david lee

Without doubt the best in its class.Full of flavour without having that overpowering vinegar taste that you find in other brands. The perfect balance between the two principal characters.

I begin by scanning the bag and shaking the contents to ensure that my first hit is a large , curled specimen that will provide my watering buds with a layered, double-whammy of crispy flavour. Each bite brings me closer to that cheek- flushing sense of naughtiness, as this particularly magical taste combination works its wonders from my inside out… warmly wicked.. a playful, loving pinch.. I am blushing…
And then I remember the healthy benefits of a good dose of cider vinegar. Oh heavenly body and soul medicine! This is undoubtedly the perfect pinaccle of salty vinegariness.
I lick my fingers and shake your hand. Splendid!

There is not a better salt and vinegar crisp on the market.
I have not found the right wine to have with them but a chilled ros’e is very good.Although cider is part of the ingredients they are much better, in my opinion, with beer.

I have seen your products sold at a supermarket which is part of the Tokyo Disney Resort. It’s really tough finding good tasting crisps, potato chips in Japan. The Japanese seem to think that foreign foods have to strong a taste. When I opened these with a can of beer, it took me back to the good fish and chips I used to eat at my university pub. The image on the bag looks like my late grandfather as well. Thank you so much for putting out such a delicious product. When I’m heading down to Tokyo, I will stock up on these.

What is it that makes these crisps taste better than the others? Is it the sea salt so much tastier than the common salt in other crisps, or is it the cider vinegar? Maybe it’s the fact that there is no artificial flavouring? Whatever it is the taste is great and once you try them you won’t want any other brand of salt & vinegar crisps! Happy munching!

Goodness gracious me, are these top notch babies legal? More than just your run of the mill crisps, these burst with eye watering flavour. Every single crisp deserves reverence and respect. Crunchy beyond belief and enhanced by their intact jackets they are moorish to the point of addiction. A veritable ferrago of gemmiferous culinary experience.

Yum! Seriously crispy crisps, with great flavour, body and texture. Puts skinny, anaemic and over- flavoured crisps to shame. Taste like they’ve just come out of the fryer. Just enough in the pack to fight over with the kids and husband.

Mmmm Sea Salt and Cider Vinegar, just give me More More More. I have been converted used to like the other brand (something to do with putting the kettle on) but no these are far superior. 10/10 from me. Finished them of this morning for breakfast. Lush.

As a 16 year old ‘child’ my veiws are often dismissed, however I would like to point out ,one has a refined pallete that any other grown up could relate to, a pallete which can only be quenched by the loved tangy combination of salt and vinegar.

Not everybody can get it right: the right zest of vinegar to compliment the light seansoning of the salt, but this my friends, is the perfect ratio of ingredients to create a flavoursome ‘explosion’ if you will.
The crunch of the perfect crisp, it’s exactly what hits the spot on a lunch time nibble or a midnight snack quest, better yet, the delightful face of the man on the packet represents the flavour of the crisps remarkably well.

    Thankyou Tyrrells,

    Love Zaib

MY absolute favourite of my favourite crisps. Other brands of “Sea Salt and Cider Vinegar” are nice, but some are too hard, some too “sharp” with vinegar, and most are in boring packets, but non are as unputdownable as these. I could eat the whole packet at one go, but my husband always insists on having some.

I love all tyrells products but s&v crisps is my fave, I have to limit myself to only keeping 1 packet at a time in the house as they just seem to disappear. I know all the shops and supermarkets in the area that sell them, not that I’m addicted or anything! My children even bought me a packet for my birthday and wrapped it up.

Tastiest salt and vinegar crisps that have ever been tasted by my taste buds. When I became vegan, oh, I can’t described how pleased I was to know that these were suitable for vegans! Of course, I celebrated by buying two packets rather than one… After hitting the gym. I don’t regret a single calorie though (in fact they’re relatively low in calories compared to regular, peasant-friendly crisps made by a company that rhymes with Shalkers so all is well!)

I am ashamed to admit that before tasting these crisps, I was a walkers kind of girl. Only after finding the slightly spicy tang and extra crunch of Tyrells Sea Salt and Cider Vinegar did I realize how much I had been missing out on over the years. Everything, from the powerful kick of the first mouthful, to the slight sweetness in the last crumbs. Thanks to this little wonder, I am fully converted to Tyrells, and look forward to my future, now full of amazing new flavour filled snacks to try. Tyrells- Do Not Change A Thing!

My son Billy has ADHD and takes equaysm 30mg to keep him calm at school, unfortunately this has made him lose weight as he never feels hungry enough to eat during the day, the doctors said he needs to eat ‘something’ at least in the day to keep his weight stable If not he will have to stop taking his medication. I was worried as he had improved so much at school since taking this medicine. The school lifted their chocolate ban even their nut ban exclusively for him but whatever we tried to temped him with he wouldn’t eat it. One day whilst shopping with Billy he noticed a big bag of your sea salt & cider vinegar crisps ‘sea salt???’ he said ‘straight from the sea?’ I chuckled and picked up a packet on the off chance he’d eat them (i was not hopeful!) But to my amazement the next day he munch through a whole packet and now everyday at lunchtime at school he has a bag of Tyrrells and a glass of full fat milk. The most amazing thing is on the last trip to the clinic his weight had not gone down enabling him to stay on his medication that has improved his education! WELL DONE TYRRELLS !

I introduced my American girlfriend to these crisps after I discovered her affinity for good ol’ British chips doused in salt and vinegar, and she couldn’t get enough. She likes them even better than actual seaside chips, and living by the coast we have plenty of authentic seaside chippies, so that’s high praise! She asks me to send her some when she’s over in the States and can’t get them, but I usually wind up eating them before I get around to it…

I am a crisp fiend, it is my absolute weakness whether it’s cheese and onion, marmite or just plain old ready salted. I love all kind of brands of crisp too but my treat and the crisp that I love the most is Tyrrell’s Sea Salt & Cider Vinegar.

What I love about Tyrrell’s is the quality of crisp, whatever flavour you know it’ll be made to perfection for you to enjoy.

The flavours are strong and spot on. Sea salt and cider vinegar is my favourite, the combination of sweet and savoury is beautiful.

I could eat them day and night, oh wait… I do!

Crisps are my guilty pleasure – salt and vinegar always is my first choice. Tyrells Sea Salt and Cider Vinegar are without a doubt top of the crop for me. I would choose them over any other, every single time! Just the right balance of flavour. Not over salted and they have just the right amount of acid sharpness! In a word – yummy! :)

These crisps combine a perfect blend of salt and vinegar with the yummiest potatoes ever grown. I have long looked for the perfect brand of vinegar-and-salt crisps (being addicted to this flavour) and I have never found anything better than this. My dream is to have a cupboard full of these crisps to eat at will. As a physicist, I confirm that these crisps are the best discovery made by mankind since Maxwell’s equations of electr0magnetism!

These are a classy take on a classic flavour. These crisps have a lovely sweetness to them and none of the sharp acidity you sometimes get. There was just enough salt to round off the flavour perfectly. I was unsure if I would like them…but I did. Beware: opening a pack may lead to over-consumption. These babies are seriously morish!

These crisp are the best I have ever had.
Like most people, I enjoy my crisps, but the most annoying thing is sometimes the flavour does not exist or is so overpowering that it spoils the delight. However on eating Tyrell’s Sea Salt & Cider Vingear I was amazed at the flavour – it was just right. My tongue was actually working as it should when eating them as I could literally taste the Sea Salt and the Cider Vingear and the combination was wonderful. The quanties was just right – it reminded me somewhat of each crisp as a entree as the potato carried the flavour on each one. I have to say this is the only brand who actually produce a Sea Salt and Cider Vingear flavour which exists and moreover it’s natural not like some I could mention.
    Great work, keep it up!!!

These taste-bud tingling Tyrell’s chips really are as unpredictable as the English weather; some ooze with the taste of the seaside (minus the sand), whilst others creep up on you before springing their attack. As for the packaging, it makes you salivate as soon as you see it! I only have one complaint about these fantastically British snacks, and that is that it is a real shame they’re not bottomless bags!

An incredible combination with the salty salt with the crisp sweet aftertaste of cider vinegar which leaves you wanting more. The packaging has nice bold colours with a unique styling of picture which allows you to distinguish the brand. The crisp is slightly thicker than other brands giving a much better texture and a far superior crunch. The smell is so enticing. I can’t write anymore I must go to the shop to get me some tyrrells crisps

Absolutely brilliant, when I see these in my local shop my tastebuds are tingling and my mouth is watering. The tang and sweetness of the cider vinegar just leaves you having just one more crisp until you’ve finished the entire pack all to yourself, and the best thing is, they’re not too salty unlike other brands. Be warned, these crisps are just devilishly moreish!!!
